Decent, But a little Small.Aug 07, 2010
By Virtually Done It is a really nice backpack for the most part, but has a few cons.
Pros: + Durable and Sturdy + Laptop Sleeve + Adjustable Straps + Many Pockets
Cons: +Six inches in depth (literally) It doesnt expand any more than that at all
I would not recommend this backpack to people who are going to be carrying a lot of books around. Its about the size of a Jansport backpack, so if you think those are small i would not recommend this is the backpack for you. +

Great Backpack!Mar 15, 2011
By K. Keough I was fed up using and wearing purses when I hit Amazon to look for a cute everyday backpack. I hate carrying a purse on one shoulder and never having enough room to carry around all of my stuff. This backpack is cute but not huge. The last thing I wanted was to look like a highschool kid carrying around an enormous backpack. This is big enough for all of my stuff but cute, slim, and stylist enough that I still feel like an adult carrying it. I love all the small pockets and the side pockets. The back is padded nicely and the straps are very comfortable.

I can't fit my chem book in it.Oct 29, 2010
By C. Sattler Its a lot better than my previous back pack and equally distributes weight to avoid back pain. Its also very cute although a lot more purple than displayed in the picture. Only problem is that I can't fit more than one text book in it and if I put a text book and my laptop its pretty crowed. It works for me because I leave my text books at home anyways but if you're one of those people who is going to need to carry multiple text books... good luck.

Perfect! Wish it fit larger laptops!Apr 02, 2010

I purchased this bag because I just got a laptop, and I wanted to get a laptop case and a backpack in one! The only problem is, I have a pretty large laptop, so it doesn't fit in the designated space, but it does fit in the main backpack pocket! I love this backpack, and I especially like the insulated sunglasses pocket! I definately reccomend this brand!

A very convenient bag for girls.Sep 03, 2011
By Rayana Review of Dakine Garden Pack in Geneve. I'll try to be objective and detailed about this review, as of course when buying online, you're never sure how the product will be in real life, therefore every little bit helps. Some of the information will be repetitive, but I'll try to add anything new I felt wasn't mentioned before in previous reviews.
Pros: - Dakine makes excellent quality sturdy bags. Even the inside liner is great and is a pretty turquoise color like the logo and zipper etc. - The front of the bag has a little slot that doesnt close. Good for keeping things like a pen etc that can be retrieved quickly and won't be missed terribly is lost. - The first zippered section has space for a lunch box (small), phone, calculator, keys etc. The organization is excellent, and anyone who likes to keep their things in order would appreciate the design - In the second zippered section there is space enough inside to carry a Mac 13", two or three thin 70-page notebooks, and a thin 1-2" thickness textbook - If you don't mind crowding a bit, you can even perhaps stuff in a small umbrella - there are two zipper sliders per section, which means you can bring them all in on one side and use a lock and key to lock them together if you're worried about your laptops' safety in the train etc. - The shoulder straps are broad so equally distributes weight without cutting - Two mesh side pockets for water bottles
Cons: - The color of the Geneve print is really pretty but isn't as bright and clear as shown in the pictures. The prints kind of fade in together, so from a distance it can look like one solid grayish backpack. If you don't mind that, it isn;t really a big deal. - I don't carry textbooks with me if I can help it, so I wanted a small backpack to basically carry my laptop, notebooks, scrubs, etc. The official website describes the dimensions to be 17x12x6. When the bag is filled up, it tends to look a little bulky. Again, if you don't mind that (or if you were looking for that), then it isn't a big deal. - The shoulder straps are a little too broad for my taste. It helps with shoulder pain, however, I feel like I can't carry the backpack with semi formal outfits. As I don't like shifting stuff between bags, I wanted something that can go from school to work seamlessly. I'm sure many people can pull it off, but I know I won't.
Bottom line: if you're looking specifically for a book bag, then this is the bag for you. It does carry a decent amount of textbooks, but nothing thicker than 2 or 3" as the bag only extends to a 6" thickness. If you like to organize, then this again is the bag for you. But, if you need a multifunctional bag, this is unfortunately too school-ish. So I'm going for the Dakine Messenger bag in Geneve instead, which offers everything this bag does, except the sunglass pouch. It's a little pricier than the Garden pack, but it's something I can use even after graduating so not a bad investment. Also, it looks cute!
