Handle won't retract after some usageAug 17, 2011

"The honest guy"
I have bought 3 of these rolling backpacks since the kids these days carry way too many books and stuff for the backpack to be put on their shoulders. That's the plus side of these rolling backpacks. This and the heavy duty rubber bottom would have gotten 5 stars from me for this review but the quality/durability leaves the product much to be desired. In short, here're what we have ended up with: The first one, one of the wheels came out of the socket after 2 months. Thinking that it maybe just our luck, we ordered a second one. This one fared even worse--the seam of the canvas where it connect to the rubber bottom came loose after a few weeks of use. We contact the seller (we bought them from [...] via amazon.com but they no long carry this brand anymore) and were offered a replacement. However this last one (we are not going to dump more money into this product), the handle won't retract after a few months of usage. All in all, I would give 5 stars for the features and design, but 1 star for the quality/durabilty--so it average out to be a 2 star product.

Wheel broke off after five weeksAug 22, 2011

Bought this for my daughter for back to school. Had a strong chemical smell at first, probably due to the manufacturing process. I opened all the zippers and let it air out a couple days before use, and the smell went away. The backpack looks really nice. But after one month of school, the wheel broke off. Seller does not give returns on used items, or returns after 30 days (must be in new condition). Then I went to the J World website. They have a 12 month warranty, but you have to pay for shipping on your end (about $10), and send J World check for $14.95 for the shipping on there end. So that would cost me about $25 to return this. Also, they said it has to be a manufacturer's defect, not any kind of abuse. So there was a risk that I send it in and they say my daughter abused it and broke the wheel off. Also, you need the warranty card, and my backpack didn't have a warranty card, I only had the receipt. So basically I have to eat this one. Not happy at all with this purchase. Also, my daughter has a light amount of weight in the bag, wheels it on a smooth and even sidewalk, and everything is one one level (no stairs). I know she doesn't abuse it, because I take her to school and pick her up, and walk her in and out. It is definately not abused or banged around, just poor quality. When you look at how the wheel is attached, it is attached with a small 1/2 inch piece of cheap plastic.

Rolling Backpack With lightening WheelsFeb 18, 2011
By Cee I love it. Its very roomy. I order this not realizing that the wheels light up when you pull it! It has 2 wheels. My daughter loved it. We've had it for 4 weeks now.
didn't even last half a school year!Apr 12, 2012
By vbg I bought this back pack for my 8 year old son who REALLY wanted a backpack with light up wheels. I thought it was too big for his size, but figured it would still be good for the cross country traveling we do anyway. We started with shipping problems. No one seemed to have the product in stock, yet they were all showing the product in stock. So insted of it arriving in time for his birthday, it came 3 weeks late. After one month of use the handle would no longer go all the way down. Then 2 months later one of wheels broke off completely. (the whole reason purchased this). Now of course to get a replacement I have to ship it back, wait 2-3 weeks and pay another $10 for shipping, until they can either fix it or replace it. What a pain! And I'll have to buy another backpack for my son anyway since he can't go 3 weeks at school without a backpack. This is not a quality product and I would not recommend it. Stick with the gold standard LLBean or something like that and find an alternative to the trendy wheels!
Bought it in July, handle broke in OctoberNov 16, 2011
By J. P. Riquezes Bought it in July, broke in October. Used gently by a little girl. Handle don't retract any more after couple of months. So bad!
